WHO WE ARE
Skills to Build Africa Initiative is a nonprofit organization focused on empowering youth in highly impoverished communities where many young people feel forced to leave their home countries in search of survival and opportunity.
Starting in Ghana, our volunteers have gathered community-level data through surveys and local engagement. Using GIS mapping and heatmaps, we identify areas with high poverty, limited job opportunities, and a history of youth migration. This allows us to target support where it is needed most.
Through practical skills training, mentorship, and livelihood support, we help young people build opportunities within their own communities, so migration becomes a choice — not a necessity.
WHAT WE DO
Empowering Youth Through Skills
At Skills to Build Africa Initiative, we offer a range of vocational programs tailored to meet the needs of young people. Our workshops cover various skills, including carpentry, sewing, coding, and entrepreneurship. We aim to provide hands-on training and mentorship, helping youth to gain practical experience and confidence. Additionally, we organize community events and collaborations to raise awareness about the importance of skill development and to inspire a culture of lifelong learning. Your support through donations allows us to expand our reach and impact more lives across Africa.
